About Saint Vincent de Paul

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society (SVDP) is an international Catholic service organization dedicated to bringing hope and assistance to those in need. Here at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, our SVDP chapter is actively involved in providing support to our local community through a variety of charitable initiatives.

Our Mission

Guided by the teachings of Christ, the Saint Vincent de Paul Society seeks to address the temporary and emergency needs of those experiencing hardship. Our outreach focuses on offering practical assistance, including:

  • Food and clothing distribution for individuals and families facing financial challenges.
  • Christmas gifts for children and adults who might otherwise go without during the holiday season.
  • Essential items like canned goods, blankets, and toiletries for those in need.
  • Donations are always welcome in the collection box located in the church gathering space.

Community Pharmacy

One of our most impactful ministries is the SVDP Community Pharmacy, located in downtown Monroe at 502 Grammont Street. This pharmacy offers free pharmaceutical medications to qualified individuals in Northeast Louisiana. Our goal is to provide vital support to those who may not have access to necessary prescriptions.
