About Sanctuary Society

The mission of the Sanctuary Society is to care for the cleaning and maintenance of the worship space of the church. We take care of the vestments the priest wears, the chalices and ciboria for communion, and the linens used for Mass (altar cloths, purificators, towels). We keep up the beautiful furniture by dusting and waxing. We make sure it is in excellent condition for the dignity of worship. Each month a designated team meets on Friday or Saturday morning to do light cleaning and to launder the linens for the week.  Twice a year we all gather to do a major cleaning and to wax the altar furniture and the pews.  We also repair and clean the frontals and altar server robes.  Anyone and everyone is welcome!  If you are interested in serving in this ministry, please contact the Church office (318) 325-7549.
